Today I broke into the DOING by breaking out of what I have come to know for the past 7-years. That doing was the 9-5 thing.
When I left my job a couple months ago I kept looking to fit into “the box”. All of the job ads in Craigslist.com, Simplyhired.com etc. became this external gauge to see who I am. Can I fit in here? do I have half a dozen requirements needed to get even a glance at my resume.
I am going to go back into a bit more about that part of this journey later but right now the decision that was best for me was to do what I knew at 16 when I started my first business…that I DON’T fit in, I never have, I have always walked to the beat of a different drummer and right now that is what I need to embrace by revitalizing TheNetworkGirl and do what I do best…connecting people through events, social networking and beyond via Network Girl Consulting.
Hearing and reading all the news dubs these times as a Recession merging into a Great Depression. I have read its not a good time to start a business. Regardless, I am geared and ready for the DOING, Full Time on my own as an Independent.
I made some business investments today that will carry me through to the other side, an unlimited International cellphone plan, Sprint Internet Card so I can be connected everywhere, Renters Insurance to protect what I have, in combination of what I already have a lot of HEART – These are my tools. (I opted to NOT get the ear piece! If I am driving, I am driving).
I have also made adjustments to my lifestyle, by bringing on a renter. I am challenging myself daily to accomplish many goals that have been just daydreams. Finding, its easier to just DO them rather than continuing to think about them.
